Kids Missions Explorer is a free educational atlas published by Dwayne Rinerfor children, families, homeschools, and Sunday school classrooms. By using this site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

What this site is for

Kids Missions Explorer is meant for learning about countries and people groups around the world and praying for them. It’s educational. It is not a news source, an encyclopedia, a substitute for school instruction, or theological counsel. We try hard to be accurate, but we don’t guarantee it.

Who can use it

Kids Missions Explorer is designed for children ages 8 to 14 and is intended to be used with the supervision of a parent, guardian, teacher, or trusted adult. Parents and guardians are responsible for their child’s use of the site, including the AI chat feature.

The AI chat (“Ask Herman & Rusty”)

The chat feature on this site is powered by an AI model from Anthropic. When you type a message, that message is sent to Anthropic’s servers to generate a response.

Please remember:

• The AI can be wrong. It can make mistakes about geography, history, statistics, and culture. Don’t use AI answers as a homework source without checking them with a parent, teacher, or trusted reference.
• Never type personal information into the chat — your real name, your school, where you live, your phone number, or anything else that could identify you.
• The chat is for learning about countries, cultures, and missions. It is not a friend, a counselor, or a substitute for talking to a real adult about real problems.

Where the information comes from

Kids Missions Explorer pulls public data from several independent sources:

• Joshua Project — people group data, religion statistics, Bible translation status.
• REST Countries — country facts (capital, population, languages, flag).
• World Bank — country statistics (literacy, life expectancy, school enrollment).

We are grateful for these sources but we don’t control the data they publish, and we can’t guarantee its accuracy or timeliness. Statistics about countries, populations, and religions change over time.

Intellectual property

The Kids Missions Explorer name, design, written copy, and the “Herman & Rusty” characters and illustrations are the property of Dwayne Riner and the Herman & Rusty book series, used here with permission. Country flags, country names, and statistics are factual data not owned by us.

You may share links to the site freely. You may quote short excerpts for educational purposes. You may not copy the site’s design, written content, or character illustrations for commercial use without permission.

Acceptable use

When you use Kids Missions Explorer you agree not to:

• Try to break, scrape, overload, or hack the site.
• Use the AI chat to generate content that is hateful, violent, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate for children.
• Pretend to be another person, or share personal information about another person without permission.
• Use the site to spread spam, malware, or scams.

Links to other sites

Kids Missions Explorer links to other websites such as Joshua Project and hermanandrusty.com. We are not responsible for what you find on those sites. When you click an external link, you leave Kids Missions Explorer and the linked site’s own rules apply.

Kids Missions Explorer is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the site will always be available, error-free, secure, or accurate. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Dwayne Riner is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site, including from anything the AI chat says.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the home page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
